Why Tumblr Is Not A Content Solution
As you know, we do have a Tumblr page but unlike our website and our blogger websites we don't use it to create content just to share our personal thoughts and other interesting things we find. The reason for this is that Tumblr is not a content management system in our eyes. It is more of a blogging version of twitter, therefore we look at it as a social media website rather than a content solution.
If we were to use it as a content management solution what would we write about and the website does not have proper administration tools that would allow us to do that. The website, is not very well built, is not a very powerful solution, but it is very socially intertwined. Therefore, it is a great site to talk more personal stuff with you the viewers so we do. We even allow you to ask us some questions and we will answer all the questions that we can just don't go asking 30 questions a day per person because I have a life myself.
Tumblr however is not a content management tool and it is horrible when it comes to adding external widgets and customization. You don't have widgets and to add the code you have to learn to fiddle with the Tumblr styling which can be quiet a pain so for the sake of our sanity and the clean look and feel of the website we are not going to be placing advertisements on here, and instead will be using it to show off our content as well as random pictures we find. This is not a content solution the coding is odd, you cant add advertisements, the styling is a mess, and it is not a very well content management solution. It needs a better dashboard and administration controls before we ever even considering using it as a content management solution.
