5 Adsense Alternatives You Should Consider

Google Adsense being the largest advertising network on the market is something that all publishers should be pushing to get into. However, some are banned some don't have the content Adsense is looking for and various other issues can come into play when trying to get into Adsense. Sometimes Adsense isn't enough to cover all the advertising space on your website and you want to find a way to supplement your income with the addition of one or maybe two advertising networks. Below are the five picks that I have for Adsense alternatives that are relatively easy to get into and are decent networks that you should apply before. Keep in mind these are networks almost any website can get into these are not high quality advertising networks.

Lijit: Lijit was bought out by Sovrn, but still is known to the world as Lijit its a CPM based advertising network that comes with a variety of advertising sizes such as the 300x600 300x250 160x600 and more including a high performing ad unit which is their name for a pop up. Lijit has no traffic requirement and once you apply you can add additional sites much like Google Adsense. However, Lijit does have a low fill rate especially in countries outside the united states. The CPM rate is really high though so using a pass back tag from a network such as Chitika is recommended to keep your inventory full.

Chitika: Chitika is an interesting advertising network that is making large strives in recent times to become a major competitor in the market. Chitika has a very large advertising inventory so your fill rate should be 100% especially on the gold tier. Chitika keeps publishers in a tier based system of Bronze Silver and Gold. Gold will give you mostly display adverting and the lower tiers will be more focused on the text advertising. Chitika has low CPC and CPM rates depending on your niche, but it can also be very high it fluctuates greatly from the website and it may or may not be right for you.

Conversant: While the name might not be familiar this was value click. Value Click was a very large ad network with various ways to make money with a plethora of ad sizes recently it merged with several smaller ad networks to form conversant. Conversant is a great advertisement network with a very high fill rate. However, the network has low quality advertisements while they are not malicious the targeting is not always the best nor are they high quality like you would find in Adsense.

Infolinks: Infolinks is an interesting advertising network that allows you to have links show up in your articles and when they are clicked on or hovered over the user is displayed an advertisement. This means that your users will no longer suffer from Banner blindness and they will be more likely to click on the advertisement. Keep in mind that using too many of these links can come across as spammy and rude by your users so be careful while doing this. In fact, this website is currently using Infolinks if you look around in this article.

Media.net: Media.net is a wonderful contextual advertising network that comes with a load of display configuration for the advertisements. However, there is the issue of no banner advertisements currently banner advertisements are in a limited closed beta and they are expecting to be released by the end of 4th quarter but as it stands there is no clear site of them being released they have discussed very little of them. The CPC is very high much higher than that of Chitika, however the CTR is much lower and there is no CPM value of these advertisements.

If you are able to use Adsense and want to generate additional revenue using Infolinks will be a smart choice as it will not take up more of your banner advertising space. If you are looking to cover more banner space than using Chitika or Lijit will be a smart choice.

If you have experience with any of these networks make sure to comment below!
